I don’t usually cook but I can make pasta dishes, some easy to prepare comfort food and no-bake desserts. So since I do not have an eye for what’s meat is perfect, what spices to use and what meat cuts should be used for specific dishes, I sometimes rely on restaurants or shops that offer ready to cook dishes. Sharing three of my favorite shops:

Updated: Online Grocery
Laziness, that is how I discovered Metromart online grocery delivery. Saturday noon, I am binge-watching my favorite Korean Drama, I suddenly craved for Cheese Bokki, the Korean fever has really gotten into me. Though SM Aura is just 30 mins away from home, I am hesitant to go out, the reasons: too lazy to get up and change clothes, the usual traffic, the expense for GRAB fare, long lines at the Supermarket, have to carry heavy bags alone. Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria
When eating out, It’s more likely that I’ll be choosing warm, colorful and Tuscan inspired over other dead, cold and plain-looking restaurants. So here I am at Nonna’s Pasta and Pizzeria in Solenad, Nuvali.
Nonna is an Italian word for grandmother. Imagine your grandmother serving different dishes and stuffing you with big servings of pasta and pizza. Nonna’s is the hip version of Mama Lou’s. Mama Lou is more like an old school Italian restaurant but both serve gastronomic Italian food. Nonna’s have 3 branches: Nuvali, Ortigas, and Alabang.
Le Petit Souffle
Le Petit Soufflé is a restaurant in Century City Mall that offers French/Japanese fusion comfort food. I’ve always been attracted to cafes with a laidback and garden theme. Luckily, this is not just an “instagrammable restaurant”, their food is twice as good as the drool-worthy Instagram photos.
Mitsuyado Sei-men
This is the 3rd and newest branch of Mitsuyado Sei-men, they have one in Bluebay Walk, Macapagal Ave and the other branch is located in Jupiter St. Belair, Makati City. This restaurant was brought to Manila by the UCC group and started the “dipping noodle” innovation back in 2012.
Cafe Lupe, Antipolo
Café Lupe Restaurant was established in 2003 by Mr. Alvin M. Carranza. The first Café Lupe Restaurant was located along Guadalupe Bridge and within Guadalupe Seminary because the owner is a devotee of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Their menu is a Filipino-Mexican fusion, from tacos, paella, quesadillas to kare-kare.
Mati’s Meat and Bread
Mckinley Hill store – Closed!
As I read on a famous blog, it is named after the owner’s son Mateo. Mati’s is the 2nd generation of Melo’s restaurant, another popular steakhouse chain in Manila. Their MCK branch opened last December, I’ve been eyeing this since then but didn’t have the courage to pay for the steak at that time (lol).
One of Cebu’s Best Dessert Place
No wonder why people keep coming back to La Marea. Even though I wasn’t able to taste the famous warm brownie cup, my friend is lost for words on how to describe the feeling while eating for the 3rd time. These cakes were freshly delivered so I was able to take photos while the staff is busy with the other customers haha.
Meet your Newest BFF!
I got my 2017 BFF card last December at TGI Fridays, BGC for P 2,500 and I used the 20% discount right away to reduce our ‘shared’ bill. I started using Bistro card since 2015 because we always dine at Buffalo Wild Wings and Bulgogi Brothers. I was enticed to buy again this year because of the discounts and privileges.
La Vie Parisienne
First trip with friends for 2017 – Cebu. This trip was booked last year. Our dear friend Krizia, booked us on different flights based on the availability of seats. So the 1st trip was at 5.55pm, next is at 9:45 then 11:45 pm. We tried our chances at the 9:45 pm flight so we arrived earlier in Cebu, enough time to meet with our friend.
