Sa Wakas: A Pinoy Rock Musical

Sa Wakas is a musical about a bittersweet love story that starts at the very end: a breakup, that everyone can really relate to. It’s a homegrown musical based on the songs of one of the country’s most beloved rock bands: Sugarfree. Sugarfree was a pop-alternative group that was formed in 1999, disbanded in 2011 but the frontman, Ebe Dancel is now a solo artist. In the meantime, let me share the songs that made my eyes extra puffy (*sob)

#1 Burnout

What happens when the romance is gone? What happens when he/she doesn’t make you sweep off your feet anymore? Burnout like the name insists refers to the dying out of romance, which is the hardest part when you are in a relationship. I wasn’t able to control my tears when they started singing it.

# 2 Unang Araw

Wait guys, give me few minutes to wipe my tears and retouch my eyeliner, I got carried away by this song again. Breakups are hard and the 1st day is the worst. The relationship that you thought was going to make it forever is now over (*sob).

# 3 Kung Ayaw Mo Na Sa Akin

Immediately after your world is changed in such an intense way, the only person that you should be worried about is yourself. After your heart has been broken into pieces, it’s time to love yourself more, respect and love yourself, it will help you heal faster (*hug).

Whether you’re wallowing in broken-heartedness and self-pity, there’s a lot of Sugarfree songs perfect for that crying moment.
