Tagaytay is my “comfort zone”. I feel so relaxed whenever I am in Tagaytay. Well, who wouldn’t agree that it is one of the most laid back places in the Philippines with its great view, cool weather plus it’s just a few hours away from Manila.
You will never run out of things to do: get a massage, trek to Taal volcano, visit Sky Ranch, go to mass at Caleruega, hang out with family and friends and of course, EAT. Restaurants and a lot of establishments are popping out like mushrooms. But honestly, I miss the old Tagaytay, when there are more trees than buildings.
RSM Lutong Bahay is near the busy highways of Tagaytay so you’ll see it easily, it is near Max’s. RSM have it all, good food, Instagram-worthy decors and the view of Taal Lake was very picturesque. From the name itself, they specialize in lutong-bahay. My top 3 favorite includes Pork Bicol Express, Sinigang (pork or sugpo) and of course, Bulalo. Customers need to wait for 30 to 45 minutes before the food is served but that was well worth it. Food tastes good and they serve in generous amounts.
Food ranges from P150 to P500, from sandwiches to lutong bahay specials. A bit expensive for some, but for me, the price is just right for the quality and quantity of the food served. Spend 1,500 for 3 dishes, rice, and even fruit shakes.
Pancit Bihon (P 250), very tasty with a lot of veggies and meat. Servings are good enough for 2 to 3 persons. RSM’s area is very spacious, tables and garden furnitures were planned and placed appropriately. RSM is also the best place for celebrating life events such as birthdays or anniversaries. You can request to serenade your loved ones with their favorite song. I bet you wont let the singers go without giving them a tip, their voice is as cool as the wind in Tagaytay. I think this place can accommodate 500 to 800 pax, can also be considered when you are looking for wedding receptions.
